Our insulation services

Insulation for every part of your home in Hoofddorp

We insulate cavity walls, floors, crawl spaces and roofs across Hoofddorp and the surrounding villages. Which measure pays off most differs from one home and one neighbourhood to the next. That is why we always survey your home in person first and tell you honestly what is and is not needed.

  • Floor insulation fitted with foil in the crawl space of a home in Hoofddorp

    Floor insulation

    For an accessible crawl space

Does cold rise from the floor in your home in Floriande or Toolenburg? Working from the crawl space, we fit insulation to the underside of the ground floor. The floor feels warmer and your heating has to work less hard.

  • Ground sheeting being laid in a low crawl space for ground insulation

    Ground insulation

For a low or damp crawl space

The high water table in the polder leaves many homes with a low, damp crawl space. Ground insulation is then often the better choice: we insulate the base itself, hold back rising damp and make the floor above noticeably less cold.

  • Roof insulation blown into a pitched roof of a home in Nieuw-Vennep

    Roof insulation

    For pitched and flat roofs

A poorly insulated roof lets a lot of heat escape. Whether you use the loft for storage or as a bedroom, roof insulation keeps it more comfortable in winter and cooler during a warm summer over the polder.

  • Insulated crawl space with ground sheeting fitted in a home in Hoofddorp

    Crawl space insulation

For damp and cold on the ground floor

A clammy, cold crawl space causes a musty smell and higher heating bills, something we often see in the older ribbons of housing along the Ringvaart. Usually a combination of ground sheeting and insulation helps. We look at what is going on on site first.

What clients in Hoofddorp and the surrounding area say

Real stories from residents and owners’ associations we helped to a warmer, more energy-efficient home.

They measured the cavity first and only then advised us. No sales talk, just filling what was needed, and they helped with the subsidy application too.
Rob de Wit Bornholm, Hoofddorp · Terraced house · cavity wall insulation
Our crawl space was regularly damp. After the ground insulation the musty smell is gone and it stays much more pleasant downstairs. Tidy work and everything cleaned up.

Environmentally friendly cavity wall insulation using biobased material
Biobased & natural
Biobased insulation

Natural insulation, just as effective

We are happy to work with biobased insulation: materials made from natural, renewable raw materials such as flax, hemp, wood fibre and cellulose. They insulate at least as well as traditional materials, yet are kinder to the environment and to the indoor climate of your home.

  • Just as effective as conventional insulation
  • A healthier indoor climate that regulates moisture naturally
  • Renewable and considerably better for the environment

Which insulation suits your home in Hoofddorp or the surrounding area?

Plenty of residents in Hoofddorp know they want to insulate, but not where to start. That is understandable, because it depends on the cavity, the height of the crawl space, the groundwater level and how the roof is built up. Do you recognise one of these situations? Then we will point you in the right direction to begin with.

You will know for certain after a free consultation. We talk openly about what works best in your case and what it will deliver.

Book a free consultation
  • A cold floor and draught from below If the crawl space is easy to reach, floor insulation is the obvious choice. For a low or damp crawl space we tend to opt for ground insulation.
  • A damp or musty crawl space The water table in the polder is often high. Ground sheeting together with ground insulation keeps the damp down and makes the ground floor noticeably more pleasant.
  • Heat escaping through the loft or roof With roof insulation or insulating the loft floor you keep the heat in, which saves directly on heating costs, certainly if you use the loft as a room.
  • Unsure about the cavity in your wall Start with a survey of the cavity. If it is wide and clean enough, cavity wall insulation is usually the fastest and most cost-effective measure.

Why insulating in Hoofddorp is worth it now

Hoofddorp grew in a short time from a village into the largest town in the municipality, with residential neighbourhoods from very different building eras. A nineteen-seventies terraced house in Graan voor Visch needs a different approach to a spacious family home in Floriande or an apartment near the centre. As an insulation company in Hoofddorp we know those differences and look at what pays off most for each home.

Because Hoofddorp lies in a deep reclaimed polder, the water table is high and crawl spaces turn damp and cold more quickly. A well insulated floor, cavity or base tackles that at the source: less draught, a warmer ground floor and an energy bill that drops noticeably. The energy label often goes up a step too, which is welcome if you want to sell your home later on.

We work across Hoofddorp, from Toolenburg and Overbos to the neighbourhoods around the Marktplein, and we keep the lines short: first a free survey, then a clear proposal and our own fitters who finish the work neatly in one go. That way you know where you stand in advance.

Grants and savings

Insulate with help from a grant

Saving on the energy bill with insulation, calculated with the insulation calculator

Insulation brings more comfort and a lower energy bill, and you will often qualify for a grant. How much you save and what you get back depends on your home, the measure and the insulation you already have. We work it out together with you.

Private homeowners in Hoofddorp and the surrounding area can use the national ISDE grant when they take two or more measures. For owners' associations there is the SVVE scheme. The conditions and amounts change from year to year, so we look together at what is possible right now and help you with the application.

Ask about grants
  • ISDE for homeowners

Private homeowners can claim the national ISDE grant when they take two or more insulation measures.

  • SVVE for owners' associations

Owners' associations can use the SVVE scheme to make their building more sustainable.

  • More comfort, a lower bill

A better insulated home is more pleasant all year round and costs less to heat.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about insulation in Hoofddorp

Cannot find your question? Feel free to call or message us, we are always happy to help.

Which type of insulation suits my home in Hoofddorp best?

In the Haarlemmermeer you find very different homes side by side: post-war terraced houses in Hoofddorp, newer neighbourhoods in Nieuw-Vennep and older ribbon development along the Ringvaart. Which measure delivers the most therefore varies from one address to the next. The year of construction plays a part, along with whether there is a cavity in the wall, how much working space there is under the floor and what condition the roof is in. That is why we come round first to assess it. After that we tell you which insulation makes the difference in your home, and which we would actually advise against in your situation.

What is the difference between floor insulation and ground insulation?

Floor insulation is fitted against the underside of the ground floor. That works well as long as the crawl space is dry and there is enough height beneath the floor to work in. Ground insulation instead lays an insulating layer on the base of the crawl space itself. In the Haarlemmermeer the groundwater sits high in many places, so out here in the polder we regularly come across low or damp crawl spaces. In those cases ground insulation is often the better choice, because we do not have to work underneath the floor.

Is my crawl space suitable for insulation?

Usually it is, but not every crawl space calls for the same approach. We look at the height, at standing water and at how damp it is, something that comes up more often on the polder ground around Hoofddorp than on sandy soil. During the survey we crawl underneath, measure everything and show you what we find. If there is too little room for floor insulation, we say so and explain why ground insulation makes more sense in that case.

Do you survey the home first, or send a quote straight away?

The survey first. Naming a price without having looked under the floor is guesswork, and that gets you nowhere. We check the cavity, the floor, the crawl space and the roof. Only once we know what is going on do we draw up the quote. That way the proposal sets out what your home really needs, with no surprises afterwards.

How does the ISDE insulation grant work?

As a private homeowner you can often apply for the national ISDE grant as soon as you have two or more insulation measures carried out. If you live in an apartment that falls under an owners' association, for example in one of the apartment blocks in Hoofddorp, that runs through the SVVE scheme for owners' associations (VvE) instead. The conditions and amounts change each year, so we do not quote a fixed figure in advance. We will tell you what you are likely to qualify for and help you get started with the application.

What is your service area around Hoofddorp?

We work throughout the Haarlemmermeer, with Hoofddorp as our base. Think of Nieuw-Vennep, Badhoevedorp, Zwanenburg, Vijfhuizen, Cruquius, Rijsenhout, Zwaanshoek, Lijnden, Abbenes and Lisserbroek, and we also cover neighbouring Aalsmeer. Is your village or neighbourhood not listed, or are you unsure whether your address still falls within our area? Give us a call or fill in the form, and we will quickly let you know whether we can come round.

Insulation company Hoofddorp

Insulation in Hoofddorp and the surrounding area, by district and by measure

Hoofddorp has grown quickly, with residential areas from a wide range of build years. That often makes insulating rewarding work here: wide cavities, easily accessible crawl spaces and plenty of family homes. At the same time the town sits in a deep reclaimed polder, so the water table is high and crawl spaces turn damp quickly. As an insulation company in Hoofddorp we know that difference district by district, from the centre around the Marktplein and Toolenburg to the villages along the Ringvaart.

Cavity wall insulation in Graan voor Visch, Toolenburg and Nieuw-Vennep

The post-war and later districts such as Graan voor Visch, Bornholm, Overbos and Toolenburg nearly all have a cavity that fills well. In the centre of Nieuw-Vennep and in Badhoevedorp too, cavity wall insulation is often the quickest step to a warmer home. We measure the cavity first, then blow in insulation through small holes in the pointing.

Floor and ground insulation in the polder districts

If the ground floor feels cold in Floriande, Vrijschot-Noord or Zwanenburg, floor insulation tackles it at the source as soon as the crawl space is accessible. In the lower-lying parts and the older ribbons around Rijsenhout and Cruquius, where the water table is high, we more often choose ground insulation with a ground sheet against rising damp. Near the Cruquius steam pumping station and along the Geniedijk we see that difference regularly.

Roof insulation in Nieuw-Vennep, Badhoevedorp and Zwaanshoek

In homes with an unused loft or a loft room, a lot of heat escapes through the roof. In districts like Getsewoud in Nieuw-Vennep and in Badhoevedorp and Zwaanshoek, roof insulation therefore delivers comfort quickly, summer and winter. For residents around the Haarlemmermeerse Bos and Big Spotters Hill we often combine insulating the roof with work on the crawl space.

Ground insulation for owners associations around the centre and Beukenhorst

The apartments and low-rise blocks near the centre, around Hoofddorp station and the Beukenhorst office district, often belong to an owners association (VvE). There it comes down to good coordination with the board and to insulating the crawl spaces beneath entire blocks. We have experience with larger owners association projects and also help with the SVVE scheme.

Besides Hoofddorp and Nieuw-Vennep we work throughout the Haarlemmermeer and just beyond, from Vijfhuizen and Lijnden to Aalsmeer and Lisse. Want to know what is possible for your home and your district? Get free insulation advice and we will come round with no obligation.
